Healthcare Research Projects
Since 2012, I have been actively involved in healthcare research and social innovation projects.
From conducting individual interviews, performing comprehensive literature reviews to designing research database, I have always been passionate about understanding health-related challenges and developing innovative solutions to address them.

Building Database for Population Well-Being Research
(Sep 2023 - Present)
Objective: Design, implement and maintenance of Population Well-Being database at Population Well-Being Lab.
Faculty: Department of Psychology, University of Toronto.
Outcome:
Interviewed and analyzed researchers’ painpoints when accessing data through secondary research

Lab Data Cleaning Process Playbook
Mental Health among Ontario International Students
(Aug 2017 - Aug 2019)
Objective: To Investigate Mental Health Issues among Ontario International Students
Faculty: Collaborated with Faculty of Social Work, University of Toronto.
Outcome:
Designed questionnaires and facilitated over 100 one-on-one interviews with international students to learn about their struggles
Established and implemented a social innovative program called EmpowerChange (Previously Listeners) to provide peer support services to international students; the program has supported over 2,000 international students across Ontario

Interviewed by CBC Radio, raising awareness about International students’ mental health
Interviewed by Ryerson University and The Varsity, University of Toronto about research findings and program effectiveness

Chinese Senior Citizen’s Health under “Great Smog”
(Oct 2015 - Apr 2016)
Objective: To understand the impact and resistance to wearing masks among Chinese senior square dancers during the “Great Smog”
Faculty: Richard Charles Lee Big Ideas Competition, Munk School of Global Affairs, University of Toronto
Outcome:
Led a team to develop a research proposal, analysis methods, and data collection strategies to understand the social, economic, cultural, and personal factors behind mask resistance
Collaborated with Cleanopy team (Dr.Natalia Mykhaylova) to design face mask prototype using 3D printing technology for seniors
Presented research findings and solutions, becoming a finalist in the Hatchery program sponsored by the Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering

Food Security: Investigating Food Malnutrition in Mumbai, India
(Sep 2012- Apr 2016)
Objective:
Faculty: Global Ideas Institute, Munk School of Global Affairs & Public Policy
Outcome:
Analyzed sources of nutrition for youth in Mumbai, India and examined the distribution and supply chain of nutritional products to understand the problem statement
Collaborated with a multidisciplinary team to develop solutions (i.e. such as scaling up nutrition packages through vending machines)
Presented research findings and proposed solutions to faculty members and stakeholders at Munk School of Global Affairs
